Gandhi Jayanti 2026: Inspiring Young Hearts with Gandhian Values
On 2 October 2026, the Women Development Centre (WDC) commemorated Gandhi Jayanti across its Child Friendly Space (CFS) centres in Guwahati, bringing together 170 children, 30 women from mother groups, Community mobilizers, and CFS Motivators. Through creative drawing activities, skits, and a pledge-taking ceremony, children explored Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless values of truth, non-violence, peace, and cleanliness. The celebration went beyond remembrance, inspiring young minds to embrace kindness, responsibility, and positive action in their daily lives—keeping Gandhiji’s message alive in the hearts of the next generation.
Women Development Centre (WDC) is a development centre for the people in North East India for many years. The sisters felt the need to bring structural change to the present way of living especially of the women and tribals.
