Women Development Centre (WDC) is a non-government organization for social work. With a registered office in Guwahati, Assam, it was established in January 2000, a Millennium gift to the women of North East India. WDC initiated community development programs to improve the lives of women and elevate their socio-economic status, build leadership skills, provide livelihood opportunities and include them in decision making process through various intervention programmes. It initiated community development programs in various parts of North East India especially, reaching the hard-to-reach areas to ensure that no one is left behind. WDC aims to integrate development of the marginalized women and youths, by creating awareness of social rights, education, vocational/skill development, health and environment and making them empowered through capacity building, job creation and sustainable income generation activities.
