Strengthening Community Action for Child Protection: CWPC Review Meetings

Every child deserves to grow up safe, protected, and supported. Strengthening this protection begins within the community. With this commitment, the Women Development Centre (WDC) conducted a series of Child Welfare Protection Committee (CWPC) Review Meetings across six Child Friendly Space (CFS) locations—Jahajghat, Arikati Basti, Baskernagar, Morakhali Colony, Uzanbazar, and Amiyanagar—on 5, 6, 7 and 11 August 2026.
The meetings brought together 172 community members and CWPC representatives, providing an important platform to reflect on progress, identify emerging concerns, and strengthen collective responsibility for the safety and well-being of children.
Women Development Centre (WDC) is a development centre for the people in North East India for many years. The sisters felt the need to bring structural change to the present way of living especially of the women and tribals.
