World Day Against Child Labour 2026

On 5th June 2026, the Women Development Centre (WDC) observed World Day Against Child Labour across five project locations—Uzanbazar Railway Colony, Arikati Basti, Uzanbazar Jahajghat, Amiyanagar, and Morakhali Punjabi Colony at Ulubari with active participation of 280 children and 12 WDC staff witnessed the event. The programme focused on creating awareness about the importance of education and the harmful effects of child labour. Various engaging activities were organized, including awareness sessions, a rally with placards carrying powerful slogans, and a drawing competition, which helped children express their views creatively. The event successfully strengthened awareness among children and community members, encouraging collective responsibility to protect child rights and promote education for all.

The observance of World Day Against Child Labour was successfully conducted by WDC across all five locations. The programme effectively spread awareness on child rights, encouraged education, and motivated the community to stand against child labour, contributing towards a more informed and responsible society.
