June 12, 2026

The Women Development Centre (WDC) observed World Environment Day on 5th June 2026 across five project locations, namely Uzanbazar Railway Colony, Arikati Basti, Uzanbazar Jahajghat, Amiyanagar, and Morakhali Punjabi Colony, Ulubari. The programme was organized with the active participation of 250 children and community members with the objective of promoting environmental protection and creating awareness on sustainable living practices.

The event focused on spreading awareness on the importance of protecting the environment and encouraging collective responsibility towards nature. Participants engaged enthusiastically in various activities such as a rally with banners and placards carrying slogans like “Save the Environment,” awareness discussions on environmental conservation, and a drawing competition that allowed children to express their thoughts creatively on environmental themes.

The programme successfully brought together children and community members in a common effort to promote environmental responsibility. It helped in strengthening awareness about the need to protect natural resources, reduce pollution, and adopt eco-friendly practices in daily life. The active involvement of participants reflected strong community commitment towards building a cleaner and greener environment.
